Born in to a small farming community with merely a stop sign and a dancehall, it was there that Joey Pruski started a passion for music that would lead him far far away from the small town of Kosciusko, Texas to places many folks in that town had never heard of... Pruski has made his mark in music more so as a bass player than a singer / songwriter, and still can be seen playing bass for Jarrod Birmingham. But when he's not playing for Jarrod, he can be found in bars and clubs all over sharing his own music with the world. "I've developed a life that revolves around music. I live it with each breath every day. Weather with someone else or by myself, I just love to play..." Pruski released his first album in 2007 under the band name Takin' Back Texas entitled "Unexpected". Although the record doesn't hold his name on the cover, all the songs were written by Joey himself. Pruski continues writing toward his next record which he is currently in the process of recording. "I don't claim myself as a singer, a songwriter, or a bass player. I claim myself as a musician. Like many of my songs about always being on a road somewhere. This is where I want to spend what I consider to be my road of life... Playing music." |
